On one hand, Islamist terrorists are perceived as a threat to world security -protagonists in a new holy war. Alternatively, we're told that the vast millions of mainstream Muslims reject the views of extremist elements, but other reports suggest that popular support for Islamic Fundamentalism is far deeper than one might expect. And so we're left in a quandary, asking why do they hate us? Its during this difficult times, that we ask the basic fundamental question. Why are Muslims increasingly becoming Fundamentalists and attacking and killing innocent people ( including Muslims). Below is my attempt to have a peep into Islam and its teachings. I have come to the conclusion that Islam teaches anything but religious abhorrence. Islam is full of Love, brotherhood and it guides believers into right living. Islam What is Islam? Islam is one of the three great faiths that sprang from the harsh land and deep silences of the Middle Eastern deserts. The other two are Judaism and Christianity and all three are interlinked because they are, in reality, worshipping the same one god. In historical terms, Islam is the youngest of the three, although Muslims argue that it is the earliest and forms the basis of all three. The word 'Muslim' means simply 'one who submits'. The creed of Islam is a simple statement in two parts, ' La Ilaha Ilallah wa Muhammadur rasul al-Lah'(There is no God but the Almighty, and Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the messenger of God) Muslims accept these two basic things in the heart; that there really is One God, Supreme and unique; and that the revelation given through the arab Prophet Muhammad ( PBUH) is the genuine, final and complete revelation from this God, and supersides all revelations that came before it. The God by definition is the Supreme, the Almighty one. It is not possible for there to be two Almighties, so there is only one God. This is the basic principle of Islam Known as 'Tawhid' or 'one-ness, which is expressed in theological terms as monotheism. God sends revealers, or messengers. God, the creator and organizer of Universe, is so far above and beyond the limitation of the human mind that it would be impossible for anyone to grasp about him at all, were it not for his desire that human beings should know and love him, and try and live in a way that will bring them success and happiness. This is the second basic concept of Islam, Known As 'risalah'. Most Muslims regard Adam as god's first prophet, and the builder of the first shrine dedicated to God's worship on earth. Muslims believe that Human life does not end at 'death', but at whatever stage God chooses to disintegrate that soul, if it is his will. The short period of time spent as human being on this earth is for a reason: it provides a series of lessons and tests, the outcome of which is most important for each individual. To develop from the training, which will sometimes involve much suffering, or perhaps being faced with the temptations of easy or corrupt living, a person needs a standard by which he or she can be guided. Each messenger of God did his or her best to teach this standard, but somewhere along the way followers with particular beliefs of their own, or with certain vested interests, coloured these teachings and diluted them. Muslims believe this is what happened to the teachings of Jesus .The messages revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) came in the form of words that had to be learned by heart and recorded with utmost care and precision and never altered in any way, so that there should be no doubt about them. There is only one form of superiority in Islam and that is of genuine piety and humanity, and desire and recitations. All are equal before him, they are of equal value to him who created them all, set them in their individual paths, who loves them- despite their faults-with intensity no human being can ever fully comprehend. The appalling acts of suicide bombers and terrorists horrify and shame Muslims. Killing and maiming the innocent is terrorism, and such twisted hatred and bitterness have nothing whatsoever to do with Islam, God, or the message or example of the Prophet (PBUH).Terrorism can only succeed politically by losing morally, since suicide bombers and terrorists assume that their enemies care about the innocent lives they rip apart. When Muslims choose to kill themselves for political reasons, they may be hoping to make a statement-even though they must know suicide is totally forbidden in Islam. When they kill innocent bystanders along with themselves it is nothing less than murder. These terrorists may perhaps have been duped into thinking of themselves as martyrs for Allah, or for their cause, but Martyr is someone who has been put to death by an oppressor because of their faith. Terrorists not only commit murder, they also cause physical dissent and damage on Islam And damage the image of Islam. The prophet has made his message crystal clear: ' That person who defects from obedience and separates from main body of the muslims,'if he dies in that state he will die the death of one belonging to the jahiliyyah(i.e. would not die a muslim) .Whoever attacks my ummah, killing the righteous along with the wicked, sparing not even those staunch in faith he has nothing to do with me and I have nothing to do with him.

Second Inning Closing it to remain open Rahul or the Think Tank states I had started blogging when I was in my job after engineering. I went through all phases of blogging experience, from the days when I craved for comments, to the nights I slogged to read all your blogs and thereby improved my typing speed writing comments for you :). I ate, drank and lived blogging. (I actually drank and lived blogging! -Vithal Patel=VP) I kept myself consoled saying that blogging was a passion in my life, and there was no harm in a little indulgence .( What a Self-Deception!-VP). I had left my job to do full time MBA by that time, but the passion had no full stops. In between classes and on days when there was no class, iLand was happening in my already happening life. On personal front, I actually grew up with you all, and the gratitude is immense. I have been away from home since I passed my 12 th , so there was always a void. I am an extremely homely person, and here I found so many father-figures, saw mother in so many of you and loved many friends, brothers and younger sisters. (Any how I happened to get only one and unique Email-Priye on the iland! -VP) I left elder sister because I grew up fighting and competing with my own and I never thought she was elder to me. So I take time to accept it as a relation and normally I simply jump to mother. At that time I had noticed that blogging was eating up my time which I could have used in academics. But iland was real life, books looked virtual . (Human machine is always unconscious, self-mesmerized and having so may buffers as excuses IN THE NAME OF Bankrupting Emotionalism and Wanton Idealism!!! VP) Some time back when I was to pass out from my b-school, I thought if I should discontinue blogging Because of the open heart person I am, I get into many iland controversies; and am happy to have cooked many of them myself. At this point, I also saw my life changing on personal front: my parents were looking for a suitable match for me, (btw they are still looking and I am waiting for the search to end :), and I thought when she comes how will she feel seeing her husband fighting on behalf of BJP on the iland : ( Why this BJP-Kamal or Congress-Panja, I have plans and we can establish our own Political Party. -VP) , just for example. The only way out was that she should come soon and help me in the decision. But that had not to happen. Then the second dilemma: what will happen if my boss finds out my political inclination, though I don't think I am so radical yet :) One way was to write only nice-nice writings and not to touch political and religious matters. But that kills the fun. It was a difficult decision, and hence I gave time to myself. In between, a new problem came up. Now I hardly had time! 12 hours a day would go consumed in my new job. So the frequency of blogging reduced. (The only best thing happened to Rahul so far!!! VP). As if this was not enough, my over-concern for things came up as a big hindrance. If you read all my blogs and I don't get to read you, I feel bad. If I read some among you and don't get to read someone else, I again feel bad. This was a lose-lose condition and I had to come out of it. Some time back I noticed that there is an option in iland by which I could make the comment page vanish! Blogging without comments? At one time, comments were life-blood for me too; blogging without anyone visibly reading seemed not worth it. Again, I gave myself time. Or may be an excuse to hang on And now I really think that I won't have much time to visit and read all of you regularly. I had started accessing blogs from office too and wanted to stop this bad habit. Then one day I will get married (Fasega Bete! Tu fasega! Lekin Blogging se bachega!) and I thought I should not be spending time on iland rather than with family. Even after all this I didnt want to stop writing. I write on many topics which are useful for all, and many times I have myself reached to my blog while searching for something on Google. I love reading, and when thoughts come out from different angles, writing is a great way of clearing the thought process. (Chi.Dearest Rahul, please note that : WRITERS AND THINK TANK LIKE YOU ARE THE FUTURE RULERS OF THIS TEEMING NATION AND NOW WE CAN MEET AS WE, BOTH ARE WRITERS AND STAYING IN MUMBAI -VP) Also, I simply love writing (OK. Better love money and join me and together we can simply prove that by Jansewa cum Business WRITERS CAN MAKE MONEY -VP) and I don't want to lose it anyways. One of my (Profitable) dreams is to author many books, and till it becomes a reality, blogging is a good platform. (Well, I was drifted into Blogging, however now I am on way to become a writer cum publisher. -VP) (By this time you would have observed a millionth time that I think too much : Right!:>)(Generelly MBA stands for M uze B ahut A ata hai and the fact is most of this non-creative machine like manufactured MBA lacks in Self Management?! A true MBA is a person who has not gone to IIM or Howard School of Non-Busyness but one who is both, originally a Street Smart and finally a Life Smart?! OK -VP) So all said and done, the decision is that I am closing my comment page for ever. I will keep writing as and when I get time and if you find them interesting do keep visiting my blog. Guest book will remain open and you are welcome to write in there, or you can always email me. Normally I dot change things so fast, and naturally I am loyal to everyone and to all that I do. I will also keep reading you, may be dropping in to read many of your latest posts on a single day. The change will break the excessive attachment that we bloggers tend to have for our blog and posts. From now on, I don't expect many comments on my blog, so my attachment with my blog and my posts will vanish. Secondly, I won't feel that much obliged to read all of you all the time with that much sincerity. It is needed for my happy personal life. (O Dear Sacha Pagal Rahulji! Teri Gathadi Me Laga Chor!
